4–6 April 2013, Hungary, Budapest – Controversies in Rheumatology and Autoimmunity (CORA)

02/04/2013

In March, 2011 a new and interesting project called Controversies in Rheumatology and Autoimmunity (CORA) was launched. The first CORA congress held in Florence was a great success with more than 500 participants. A fresh and intuitive congress structure was launched that included debate sessions on burning but controversial issues, plenary lectures, company-sponsored blocks and other scientific sessions including presentations of submitted abstracts. After the success of the first CORA meeting, now we wish to move to another city of river and bridges, Budapest, where the next CORA congress will take place between April 4-6, 2013. During the last two years, there have been even more controversial issues in the field of immunology and rheumatology. That is why the panel of presidents now include a fifth musketeer so that we will be able to cope with this increasingly difficult task.

CORA 2013 will cover issues related to the clinical diagnosis and management, as well as the pathogenesis of rheumatic and autoimmune disorders. We plan to conduct debates on the importance of genetic vs. epigenetic factors, on the involvement of bone destruction vs. formation in the pathogenesis of arthritides, on burning issues of targeted therapy including early treatment initiation, switching and stopping. We will cover highly controversial issues of gout, lupus, inflammatory myositis and scleroderma. We will discuss whether atherosclerosis is an autoimmune disease or not. What to use and what not in osteoporosis and osteoarthritis treatment.

Venue: Novotel Budapest City (former Novotel Budapest Congress), Alkotas utca 63-67, 1123, Budapest, Hungary
